Ken has 35 years of experience as a veteran of stage, film and television production and 21 years of training and developing young talent and technicians.

He is a proven leader demonstrating integrity, strong business ethics, and the energy to influence and build responsive, supportive working environments focused on producing highly skilled talent and technicians.

He has an outstanding record in designing unique training projects that develop knowledge, confidence, innovation and competence through the creation of stage works and media programming.   For over 15 years, he has been an invited guest speaker for educational seminars that range from entertainment industry opportunities to corporate and political image and sales training.

Career Achievements

  • Managed KVG Studios to becoming the most visible and highly regarded performing arts training facility in Central Florida within a two-year period.

  • Created the Curriculum for 32 courses for the Performing Arts for Film and Television.

  • Produced and directed award winning plays.

  • Created and produced a six episode soap opera.

  • Created ongoing apprenticeships with UCF and Full Sail for students of film and television and maintained those apprenticeships for more than eight years.

  • Produced and directed both single camera ENG shoots and multiple camera live switched productions.

  • Created an advertising campaign for an automobile dealership that tripled the monthly sales within 6 months and sustained that level for two years.

  • Partnered in the production of a Nickelodeon's Gulla Gulla Island that won numerous awards and acclaims for children's programming.

  • Invited speaker and lecturer for groups such as the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association on the process of generating and/or stimulating entertainment production in Central Florida.

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of creating and managing the fastest growing privately owned performing arts training center in the state of Florida.  Created the ONLY performing arts center with it's own multi-camera sound stage.

Head of Drama Department

Created a curriculum designed to introduce the novice actor to the skills necessary for a career as an actor.  Identified goals and benchmarks to be attained within the course, and standardized the curriculum for all drama instructors.  Initiated an advanced course in scene study for those who had completed the initial course.

Drama Instructor/Production Consultant

Responsibilities included the creation of a drama curriculum, preparation of scenes, teaching techniques, evaluating performances, parent/student/teacher consultations and the preparation of each student for a final production project.

  • Created a drama curriculum that satisfied California post secondary technical education requirements.

  • Instrumental in making advanced training in the performing arts available to low income and disadvantaged youth.

  • Created supply and equipment lists necessary for the development of an on-camera training facility.

  • Supervised the installation of that equipment and initiated the Drama Program at Golden State Schools.

  • Duties included script consultation, direction, and supervising the effective implementation of an intensive film and Three-Camera Video curriculum.

2000 to 2003
  • The Automax Experience - Produced and directed more than 50 half hour infomercials that interlace comedy sketches with informational segments.

  • Red Hot & Boom - For the last three years, provided a three camera shoot of the annual 4th of July Celebration at Cranes Roost for the city of Altamonte Springs.

  • Created a highly successful marketing campaign for Universal Nissan for 2001 & 2002.

  • Maintained accounts resulting in 30 to 40 commercials and half hour programs per month.

  • Tripled main client's monthly gross sales within six months through aggressive advertising.

  • Produced over 800 television spots and 85 half-hour television shows and numerous live events.

  • Supervised purchasing of an average of $80,000 of spot time per month for clients.

  • Maintained an on-going apprenticeship with film and video students in the Central Florida area for eight years.

  • Auditioned and evaluated talent and interviewed and hired crew necessary for each project.

  • Scheduled, directed and coordinated the talent, staff and crew for location shoots for commercials and television programming.

  • Hired and supervised a crew for multi-camera coverage of live concert events.

  • Supervised the editing of video on both linear and non-linear systems.

  • Consistently delivered products that exceeded the client's expectations and maintained on-going work relationships with several clients over a multi- year period.

  • Pine Bluff - Producer/Director of a soap opera project revolving around Southern life.

ME AND MY FRIENDS, Nickelodeon Orlando, FL

Choreographer (Assistant Director)

1998 to 1999

Responsible for conceptualizing, choreographing and rehearsing all musical numbers that utilized 'full-sized walk around characters' in each number. Developed 'signature identities and movements' for each show character, created dance and movement for musical segments of the show, rehearsed all musical segments, created camera shot sheets, and acted as assistant director during the taping of the musical segments.

GULLA GULLA LIVE, Nickelodeon Orlando, FL              Director/Choreographer

1997 to 1998

Responsible for the selection of all show content and musical selections, created the staging and choreography, conducted all rehearsals and supervised all of the technical requirements for a live adaptation of Nickelodeon's award winning show Gulla Gulla Island.  Supervised the stage preparation, costume adjustments, lighting design, sound quality, and last minute adjustments of the show content dictated by the facility limitations of the opening weekend performances.

BINYAH BINYAH Series, Nickelodeon Orlando, FL

Choreographer/Musical Segment Director

1997 to 1997

Conceptualized, choreographed, and associate directed all musical numbers utilizing and incorporating live actors (children and adults), 'full-sized walk around characters', hand puppets, and string puppets in each number.  Worked closely with executive producers to create individual and identifiable signature movements for each character to relate to a preschool audience.  Also continued all the pre and postproduction activities associated with my former duties on the Gullah Gullah Island series.

Directed a live five camera taping of an award show.  Responsible for conceptualization of videography, blocking of talent, setting camera placement, setting shots, calling shots during live performance, coordinating live action, graphics, video clips, lighting cues, camera cues, audio cues, and talent cues.

GULLA GULLA ISLAND, Nickelodeon Orlando, FL

Choreographer

1994 to 1997

Responsible for the development of character personalities and the movements, mannerisms and speech patterns that would be appropriate for each character.  Responsible for researching specific movements and dances indigenous to the Gulla culture and integrating those authentic moves into the choreography of the show.  Responsible for creating movement that would appeal to a young audience and still be true to the ethnic culture from which it was derived.
